For awhile since John has been making changes to the program , a lot of us are having connection problems. So far in the upper right hand corner of the chat page , I have seen "My IP : Offline , Connecting , Connected (in blue designating a poor connection) The upper list is blank , users cannot be pinged , when attempting the name shows as frey , or not at all. With a not found appearing in the ping box , or the ping button stays greyed out with no response. Today since about 5 AM my Cyberbuddy has been offline. I have written to John , now we Wait , from other users I have been told cyber is working but the list is short. So far I believe its not just a single` area involved .As soon as I hear from John I will post the results

None of the tips mentioned so far have worked, in my case, & probably other cases. Please post an update as to what is going on with Cyber's new servers. why we can't get names, has JD told you anything new, and is he working on Cyber's problems? I have been without the chat for over a month. Please give more information. Thanks.

I had one laptop do the same thing yours did , I found that Cyberbuddy Is in fact connecting to the servers , BUT the buddylist does not update , any effort to ping comes back as not found. I do not know why this anomaly is occurring yet. I have written JD with the particulars of the situation . I Hope he has read the E-mail, and is looking into it. As JD updates me I will update you

I managed to get my antivirus to allow the program in now the issue above re: connecting and not connection etc. is happening. Is this the same problem as others here have experienced before? I realize this thread is a few years old but the problem still exists, I did t see it as being resolved.

Joan the CBParms.cfg needs replacing , many times after replacing in the cyberbuddy folder the system puts the old one back in , make sure new file is in by size using right click properties , 2.9kb bad file will be 3.2 kb and will not work check settings allow chat in buddies folder upper left , advanced in general tab make sure router is checked , if a blank checkbox appears in chat list window right click remove , then put cybers u8in in ping box and ping
