Norman have you checked your Yahoo.UK e-mail in spam? I have sent you files you need to follow directions on , remember the NEWEST cyberbuddy is in C:\Apps\Cyberbuddy , The CBParms.cfg needs to be put in the cyberbuddy folder replacing the old one then start cyberbuddy OK?

I downloaded the fix but it now has no sound for speaking. I thought maybe I needed to download the MSagents but that also did not work so I am putting up with the pink surround which I hate! Is there something more I can do?

the win fix for the msagents works fine however there are 2 versions 32 and 64 bit , I have had no issues with my agent fix

I have tried it 3 times and the pink is gone but so is their voice though the sound effects are still there. Also is there any way to make cyber buddy load faster, he takes forever as well as sometimes refuses to read when prompted. I many times have to reboot him. For years the free version was nearly perfect, what happened? Is it that it is not being re-tuned for all the incarnations of windows? Will there be more updates?

do you have dragon speak or dragon speech by any chance? msagents will not work with the dragon program installed , it must be uninstalled for msagents to work

No I don't have "Dragon Naturally Speaking"? I think that is what you mean, no! Is there any way to get it to load faster. It takes forever.

everything should work right once the correct if your windows 7 is 64 bit , you use the 64 bit fix , 32 bit windows 32 bit fix Once the "Official" msagents fix is installed , your agents should work properly ,
A recap , you did put the new CBParms.cfg sent into the main cyberbuddy folder? Making sure cyberbuddy was not running , by using the task manager processes tab to insure cyberbuddy was closed. If cyber isrunning the CBParms.cfg will not replace the old one. The reason I ask is if the file is not done right cyberbuddy will take forever to load .
I will resend a copy of the CBParms.cfg to you , go to C:\Apps\Cyberbuddy open the cyberbuddy folder and copy paste the CBParms into that folder , it will ask to replace the existing one click replace , then close the folders and restart cyberbuddy

I just emailed my thank you and just wanted to thank you here as well. CyberBud is a lot quicker now. I am not sure what you are saying about the fix for the purple square though. I will go back to the beginning of the thread and maybe it will all become clear.

Still no go on the purple haze. CyberBud does not come up on the screen and there is no sound other than the sound effects one hears when he disappears for the system tray.
Any other ideas?

The only thing I can suggest here is look in character and speech options , look through your sound control panel something is off and it is simple , just cant get to it , small memory fart , have been here before just cant remember , you might try asking a few others in the cyber chat , make sure chat is enabled in buddies tab and ping some users cyber 1111 , bob 2000 yeti 3000 that will start the list moving, *NOTE* If you see a blank checkbox in the buddies window at thew top with no username or uin do not put a checkmark in it , click it to highlight the line then right click it and click remove from list , that will cause the list to fail to update

There are some common problems that are very easy to fix, but people are not aware on how to fix those problems. So here is the most common problems you may run into with CyberBuddy. The Agents have pink/other weird color backgrounds on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit.There is currently a bug on Windows 7 where, the agents are fully functional but have this background. Go to support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=969168, and click on the giant button that says Hotfix Download Available. Then accept the terms. It will automatically detect your OS, and it will detect whether it is 32 or 64 bit. Enter your email address, then type in the CAPTCHA. Go to your submitted email address, then, click on the download. Install the hotfix, and then restart your computer. The next time you run CyberBuddy or any MS agent program, the weird background will be fixed. The chat keeps saying Connecting... in green or blue letters, and never connects.Make sure your Firewall is not blocking CyberBuddy from establishing a connection. If you have a router, try going into advanced options, and use server-based instant messaging. Make sure your computer & router's firewall isn't also blocking the connection. In extremely rare cases, your location, or IP range may be blocked from accessing CyberBuddy. Make sure you also have Instant Messaging Enabled ticked, and not Instant Messaging Disabled or Messages from Contacts Only. The Email function does not work!Unfortunately, the Email Function will not work with MSN, Hotmail, Gmail, or Yahoo!. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to fix it. RSS Feeds don't work!Unfortunately, certain RSS feeds are not compatible with CyberBuddy. However, most are compatible. Cyber the Bot is offline!For some people, Cyber the Bot pops up as offline for them. If he shows up as offline, click on his name, and press Ping. Right click on his name and click Synchronize. If he is still offline, try restarting the program. If he is still offline after that, you may be blocked from chatting with Cyber. This does not mean you have done something wrong, your block may have been accidental or meant for somebody else. I Followed the instructions from your first reply and followed the instructions from your 2nd reply, and the users are still not up there!!!! What do i do now? you need to replace the CBParms.cfg with one i will e-mail to you send e-mail to muggs1@comcast.net

microsoft has agent fixes for 32 bit and 64 bit , windows 7 fix is easiest follow directions , windows 8 , 8.1 , and 10 are a little more complicated but work fine follow directions exactly
for cyberbuddy to work instead of pinging all "Not Found" the CBParms.cfg needs to be replaced in the main cyber folder be sure ybr is not running using task manager and msagents are not working , copy paste the new repaired CBParms.cfg in the folder replacing the bad one

That hotfix is only for Windows 7. There is no choice of operating system.
